Different coagulants and flocculants are added to each jar in varying amounts. This simulates different treatment scenarios.

The jars are placed in a jar testing machine that gently rotates them. The rotation simulates the mixing process in full-scale treatment tanks, spreading the chemicals evenly throughout the water.

After a set time, the mixing stops. The particles and impurities settle at the bottom of the jars, mimicking the sedimentation process in treatment plants.
